"Buffalo wings" it and
pays "Price"

Led by Chris Polk and Keith Price, the
Washington Huskies ran and passed their way to a 52-24 victory
over the Colorado Buffaloes at Husky Stadium, Seattle
Washington. |
In its 5 wins this season, Washington (5-1, 3-0)
has held its four opponents to an average of just 54.6 yards per game
on the ground. In its only loss, UW gave up 309 rushing yards to
Nebraska. In all, the Huskies rank 17th in the FBS in stopping the run,
surrendering an average of 97 yards per game.
Price's passing-efficiency rating of 177.91 ranks
5th in the nation, and Polk's rushing average of 121.33 yards per game
ranks 7th.
The Huskies have won 9 out of their last 10 games
dating back to last year. Coach Steve Sarkisian is 18-14 since taking
over the head coaching duties in 2009, which followed a 0-12 season in
2008.
Nine different Huskies scored points, with seven
different Dawgs scoring the team's seven touchdowns; Erik Folk kicked a
field goal and made six extra points. Erik Guttorp kicked the last try
for point.
The Huskies scored on all of their possessions in
the first half.
Price has 21 TD passes this season, already tied
for fourth most in program history.
In its flawless first half, the finely tuned
Washington "O" machine seemingly replicated one of Gil Dobie's perpetual motion
machines from the past. Is Dobie in communication with Sark from the dog
star Sirius, Lynn Borland might ask? Dobie biographer Borland was
jogging near the vestiges of Denny Field last week when he spotted
Sirius in the early morning sky and a Boeing 737 in direct alignment
with his vantage point and the dog star. Einstein called quantum
entanglement, spooky action at a distance, or spukhafte Fernwirkung.)
"We didn't do anything well defensively in this
game," Colorado coach Jon Embree was quoted as saying. "We got beat in
every phase."
Hence, the meaning of our headline: puns on Buffalo wings
and Keith Price; if a member of the Buffalo secondary winged his pass
coverage, then QB Keith Price made him pay the price with a touchdown
pass.
